Sub: Extension of date for payment of profession tax for the
year 2006-07.
Honourable Sir,
The last date for payment of Profession Tax for the year
2006-07 was 30th June, 2007. It is found that the E.C. holders received the
challans after 25th of June 2006. Many of the E.C. holders have not received
challans till today. Moreover there are amendments in payment of Profession
Tax which are also published very recently. The E.C. holders are not aware
of the said amendments.
We therefore request your honour to extend the date of
payment for one month; i.e., up to 31st July, 2006. Otherwise, many E.C.
holders will have to pay the interest without any fault on their part.
Kindly consider the request and oblige.

Sub : Non-delivery of Profession Tax Challans by Local
Couriers
Respected Sir,
We had received numerous complaints from profession tax
payers of Sangli District that they have not received the challans till
today. We have collected information from our own sources and found that the
distribution work is given to Origin Courier, near Krishna Shreya Complex,
Maharaja Chowk, Vishrambag, Sangli. When we have made a courtesy visit to
the said courier’s office, it was found that about 4-5 thousand challans are
still lying undelivered in his office. This fact is informed to the Deputy
Commissioner of Sales Tax (Adm.), M-84, Sangli at 4.30 p.m. today. We
requested him to take the stock statement of the undistributed challans from
the said courier.
Sir, we are very much afraid that with all courier
agencies of various districts, it is possible that thousands of
undistributed challans may be lying. Hence your honour is requested to check
the position very urgently throughout the State of Maharashtra and please
ascertain the correct position. This is all done by our organization in the
interest of revenue.
