Sales Tax Review

July 2003

From the Incoming President

Dear Members,

It gives me immense pleasure and honour in assuming the highest post of this esteemed Association which comprises of intellectual personalities. I express my sincere gratitude to all the members for electing me unopposed and unanimous as a President of this prestigious Association. This achievement was not possible without your support, co-operation, affection and love.

I shall make all the efforts to live up to your expectations and will justify your confidence reposed in me.

Let me first congratulate the outgoing president Shri Deepak Thakkar for successfully completing his tenure.

I am aware that you all must be eager to know about the future plans I have in my mind for our association.

I desire to continue and improve upon all the activities of our association with the same vigour and enthusiasm established by all Past Presidents and keep up standards set by them and move ahead taking the flag of our association to a greater height.

I have in my mind the following activities to carry out during the year:

  1. To impart knowledge, best services to the members and to promote brother hood and unity to fulfil our slogan of Knowledge, service and unity, lead to success.

  2. To develop a second line of defence and to promote and provide a platform to youngsters.

  3. To organise celebration programme to celebrate Golden Jubilee year of our mouthpiece journal "Sales Tax Review".

  4. To introduce effective management information systems by using information technology and also to restart on-line chat on various professional subjects.

  5. To renovate the new office premises with all the amenities to suit all our requirements.

  6. To update & publish BST Act and Rules Compilation.

  7. To give data of contributory judgments on C.D. to the subscribers of CJ Scheme.

  8. To introduce a group security cover for the benefit of our members and their families.

  9. To involve more and more outstation members in all the activities of the Association.

I am aware that all these tasks discussed above cannot be achieved without the wholehearted support of all the members of the managing committee and guidance of our seniors. I am confident that I would be able to get the same from all of you.

Once again I thank you all for giving me this opportunity to serve the members of this Association for the year 2003-04.

With warm regards,

Pravin R. Shah
