2. STUDY CIRCLE MEETING

The 7th Study Circle Meeting was held at The Sales Tax Practitioners’ Association Library Hall, R. No. 104, First Floor, Vikrikar Bhavan, Mazgaon, on 4th March, 2008 wherein Dr. K. Shivaram (Advocate), spoke on "Union Budget 2008". Members in large numbers attended the same.

3. SEMINAR ON FEMA

The Association has jointly organised seminar with the The Malad Chamber of Tax Consultants on 15th March, 2008. The Speakers in the seminar were Shri Dilip Thakkar (C.A.), Sishil Lakhani (C.A.), Mayur Nayak (C.A.), Gaurang Gandhi (C.A.), Chetan Shah (C.A.) and Naresh Ajwani (C.A.) on the subject of Foreign Exchange Management Act.

4. STUDY COURSE ON SERVICE TAX – NURTURING OPPORTUNITIES

The Association has jointly organized Study Course with the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (WZ) on 21st and 29th March, 2008. The Speakers were Sarvashri A.R. Krishnan, Vikram Nankani, Girish Raman, Manish Gadia, Nambirajan, Prashant Patankar, Prasad Paranjpe, Prakash Mehta, Rajiv Luthia, Shailesh Sheth, S.S. Gupta, Sunil Gabhawalla, T. Gunasekaran, Vipin Kumar Jain and V. Sridharan.

5. OUTSTATION SEMINARS

The Association has organised Outstation Seminar at Malvan (Sindhudurg – District) jointly with Tax & Other Practitioners’ Association, Sindhudurg on 23rd February, 2008. The speakers in the seminar were Shri Kiran G. Garkar (C.A.), Amol Mane (Advocate) and Kishor Lulla (Advocate) on the subject of Highlights of Works Contract, Recent Amendments in Set-off and Taxation of Hoteliers.

The Association has organised seminar at Chiplun (Ratnagiri – District) jointly with North Ratnagiri District Tax Practitioners Association, Chiplun on 24th February, 2008. The speakers in the seminar were Shri Vinayak P. Patkar (Advocate), Deepak K. Bapat (Advocate), Amol Mane (Advocate), Kishor T. Lulla (Advocate) on the subject of Highlights of Works Contract, Recent Amendments in Set-off and Taxation of Hoteliers.

The Association has organized seminar at Sangli jointly with the Taxation Consultants’ Association, Sangli and Asian School of Cyber Laws, Pune on 26th February, 2008. The speakers were Shri Mayur R. Parekh (C.A.), Shri Amol Mane (Advocate) and Shri Kishor T. Lulla on Intricate Issues arising out in MVAT Audit, Introduction of Cyber Law.

The Association organized seminar at Pune jointly with The Western Maharashtra Tax Practitioners’ Association on 8th March, 2008. The speakers in the seminar were Shri Janak Vaghani (C.A) and V. Jayraman (C.A.) on the subject of Role of Sales Tax Advisor in Business Audit, Impact of Union Budget 2008 on Direct Taxes & Service Tax.

The Association also organized seminar at Sangli jointly with Taxation Consultants’ Association, Sangli on 9th March, 2008. The speakers in the seminar were Shri Vipul Joshi (Advocate), Vikram Mehta (C.A.) and Mrs. Nikita Badheka (Advocate) on the subject of Impact of Union Budget 2008 on Direct Tax, Impact of Union Budget 2008 on Service Tax and Introduction to Goods & Service Tax.
