  1. The Managing Committee for the year 2006-07 held its 1st Meeting on 26th July, 2006 the following persons were admitted as members of the Association:

  1. Associate Editor:

Shri Ashvin A. Acharya, the immediate Past President, is appointed as the Associate Editor for the year 2006-07, in the first Managing Committee Meeting held on 26-7-2006.

  1. Inaugural Study Circle Meeting:

The 1st Study Circle Meeting was held on The Sales Tax Practitioners’ Association Library Hall, R. No. 104, First Floor, Vikrikar Bhavan, Mazgaon, on 3rd August, 2006 wherein Shri G.D. Parekh, Hon’ble President of Maharashtra Sales Tax Tribunal inaugurated the First Study Circle Meeting and addressed the gathering.

Sr. Advocate Shri Firoze Andhyarujina spoke on “Controversial Issues in Taxation”.

  1. Know Your Managing Committee:

A Get-together meeting for introducing the New Managing Committee to the members was held in the Mazgaon Library of the Association on 1st August, 2006. The convenors of various Sub-Committees informed the members of their plans about the activities to be carried out during the coming year. Past Presidents and other senior members gave valuable guidance to the convenors and assured to extend their help in achieving the objects of the Association.

  1. Sub-Committee Meetings:

Computer & Information Committee, Workshop Committee, Coaching Class Committee held its First Meeting on 1st August, 2006.

NRRC Committee, Intensive Study Course Committee held its First Meeting on 3rd August, 2006.

Law & Representation Committee held its First Meeting on 8th August, 2006.

Publication Committee held its First Meeting on 10th August, 2006.

  1. Joint Seminar:

A joint seminar was organised with Vidarbha Tax Practitioners' Association and Sales Tax Bar Association, Nagpur on 5-8-2006, on MVAT Audit.

The President, Shri Tushar P. Joshi, inaugurated the same. More than 175 delegates took the benefit.

  1. Picnic:

The annual picnic of the members was held at Daman Devka from 11th August to 13th August, 2006. In all 55 participants attended the picnic and enjoyed the same.

  1. Guidance Cell:

Guidance to solve the problems faced by members in the day-to-day practice is one of the popular activities of the Association. The following meetings of the Guidance Cell were held, wherein Panel Members gave their valuable guidance to the members:
