What would be the rate of tax applicable in respect of the following
products:
• Opticase made of Plastic (Plastic spectacle
Case)
• Opticase made of Rexine (Rexine Spectacle
Case)
Held:
The sale of Opticase made of ‘Plastic’ and ‘Rexine’ is herewith determined to be covered by schedule entry E-1 of the MVAT Act, 2002, thereby attracting tax @ 12.5%. For reasons as discussed in the order, the applicants’ prayer for prospective effect is not considered.
